This week we have been writing acrostic poems about volcanoes. We have been trying to use descriptive language and paint a picture of the volcano for the reader. Listen to these poems to see how we went..
We are a Year 8 class from Waimea Intermediate School, which is in Nelson, New Zealand. We hope you enjoy reading our blog.

Rock cycle dance
Maggie raps the rock cycle as the group Jordana, Maggie, Hayley, Lauren and Lucy created and performed a dance that demonstrates the steps in the rock cycle.
We were totally blown away by this performance!! These girls really worked their strengths well within the group, and challenged themselves to rewrite the lyrics to a rockcycle rap! Well done girls
Rock cycle animations
Josh's rock cycle video
I admire all the boys groups that have showed amazing determination and resilience to get these animations made!!
After several days of attempting to create their animation, they have solved many problems and finally have produced their rock cycle animation. More to come soon...

Our Special Guest!
Endball challenge
Yesterday Room 2 had their endball tournament against Room 7. Sadly we lost, but we tried our best and I'm sure that we will win next time!!!
It was a close game ending in a draw at full time. It went into extra time where we just let the win slip away.
Great try guys!

Creating games
This week we are creating new games in groups, so that we can practice the skills we need to play End Ball better.
These photos are of the groups trailing their games with another team, and fixing the problems before we play the game as a whole class.
Next week we will be playing all the games.
We are also looking at what makes a good team and leader.
Comment below what you think makes a good team member and what makes a good leader
