Speeches Term 3
Rules/Guidelines
· Each student is to do at least one speech to their class individually. 
· Props, costumes and visual aids (including slide shows) are allowed. However, the students should remember it’s a speech competition and not a dramatic performance.
· The speeches will be from 2.5 minutes to 5 minutes.
· Each syndicate is to choose three or four students for the School Finals, depending on how many classes there are in their syndicate.
· The two winners will present their speech at the next assembly.

Cut out pieces of cardboard, approximately 8cm by 10cm. Write out your whole speech on cards, or just write cues.

If you can learn your speech well enough, cues are the best option.

Practice
· Practise your speech. Practise many times!
· Try to look up as much as possible. 
· Try and put expression into your voice.
· Include a few natural hand gestures.

  1. I might have did something wrong but, I found that spelling city didn't require any spelling at all. Spending half an hour on Typing rocket would be a great homework project, because it is fun and increases hand to eye coordination.
