Over the last few weeks we have been looking at how to write instructions, then write them in a more entertaining, interesting way in a poem form.

Kirsten instructions on How to make toast

Open the cupboard to find the snow white toaster.

Lift it up like it is a big tonne of rocks,

then go to the dark cupboard,

search around for the bread, like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Plop the bread in the toaster like you are dropping a rock in the river. Wait til the snow white toaster pops your yummy toast out,

get the yummy toast out and get a plate out,

spread the nice golden butter on the toast,

gently put the yummy jam on,

cut the toast in half and enjoy.

Maddy's instructions on How to saddle your horse

Pick up the saddle, be careful it is heavy.

Chase your horse around the paddock, its good exercise for him and you.

 Catch and tie it tight to a well stuck post,

pick a bristly brush and scrub the dirt off its coat,

Feel for a fluffy blanket,

place it evenly on its back,

finally pick up the heavy saddle,

put it on its back,

 tighten the strap around his ginormous belly.

Now you are ready to go like the wind.

Mardi's instructions for how to take a goal kick.

Place the ball, like a fragile egg, on the corner of the six yard box,

tiptoe back a metre or two,

glare at the person you are going to pelt it to,

Sprint up to the ball like a cheetah, 

 strike the bottom of the ball,

 like a bull throwing a man in the air with his horns,

smack the ball to the player,

 if he is in trouble

run up

and help him

 as if he was about to die.
