Lit Quiz Winners

On Thursday, Olivia, Annameika, Lilly and Charlotte participated in the class Literature Quiz. They had to answer questions about lots of different books. Congratulations to the girls as they won!!
Annameika and Olivia had fantastic scores and will now represent the school in the interschool Lit Quiz next term. Well done girls.

Stimela ‘The Gumboot’ Musical

Today we were lucky enough to watch a performance from Stimela.

"Gumboot dancing was born out of the oppressive gold mines of South Africa. Forbidden to speak and in almost complete darkness, the slave laborers developed their own language by slapping their gumboots and rattling their ankle chains. In time it has developed into a truly unique dance form …"

Swimming Sports

Yesterday Room 10 took part in the annual school swimming sports. Dressing up in GREEN Nikau colours was definitely a highlight for many.

Technical Art project

To make our classroom look awesome, we will be creating some amazing artwork to put up on the walls. To start off with we are going to use a site called www.tagul.com to create some awesome images and word clouds.
  1. 1.Brainstorm as many words that describe you, your likes and interests, hobbies and qualities.
  2. 2.Use this list to add to the word list, change the size to emphasis your favourite ones.
  3. 3.Add your class photo to the shapes.
  4. 4.Experiment with colours, size, font etc until you are happy to print your masterpiece.
