What are our rights?

We have started looking at human rights, particularly children's rights. This great video gave us a look at how our rights were formed. Do you now know some of our rights? With rights comes responsibilities too!! Do you know of any cases where peoples rights are not being met, locally? nationally? globally?

  2. There are sooooooo many adults and children in the world that aren't getting their met! We are lucky in New Zealand where most kids are getting their human rights, but in other countries ther are thousands of kids without shelter or warm clothing and abandoned!!!! Our class book at the moment relates a lot to our topic too. And it shows that we should really appreciate that we get to go to school and have a home to live in !!!!!!!!!

  4. Me too Hayley! I'm really enjoying the book as well! It is so sad and makes us realize how lucky we are! It also makes you think about what it was like for them and how hard it would have been for them! It's good for improving our empathy! Can't wait to keep reading! I also agree with Lauren, all over the globe there are so many people with their rights not being met. Even in New Zealand!! It's so sad!
