Solar Ovens

We found out that 1 in 6 people did not have access to electricity.
Then we decided to try design and build a solar oven, only using, a pizza box, tinfoil, gladwrap and tape.
After watching several clips on solar energy, we found out that we need something to reflect the heat, some thing to absorb the heat and something to trap the heat inside.

Here is our journey to design, make and test our solar ovens.

We had to try melt a marshmellow and some chocolate thins to make a smore.
See how we went..

  1. This was such a fun thing to do. I can't believe that, that many people are living without electricity. Jordana, Lauren, Maggie and mine worked quite well. As soon as I put my two biscuits together they just melted.
I hope we can do something else with our ovens.
