Today we experienced what it would be like to collect and carry our own water. We carried our buckets full of water carefully as we knew this would be the only water we would have for our day. There are lots of difference uses for this water, and not only to drink, but to clean, wash and cook with it. We made it a bit of a competition to see which group had the most water in their buckets by the end. Click on this album to look at some of the photos from our day.
What did this exercise make you think about children living like this everyday?
I thought how awful it would be to have to do this everyday from 5 in the morning right up to midnight and how lucky we are to be in a nice country that doesn't have child labour. Sophie
ReplyDeleteI thought that we are relly lucky that we dont have to walk 10km+ a day to get water, all we have to do is turn on the tap. And how horrid it must be to do that sort of thing every day.

It was horrific and painful> feel so sorry for the kids that have to do this everyday.

Wow, doing that every day would be torture! Just to get a bucket of water, they have to walk around 10km, that must be so tough. Greer

ReplyDeleteThat it was tuff and would not be fun after a few days.
