"Kiwi as" afternoon.

Room 2 celebrated the end of term with a celebration of all the work they have done on the unit "There's no culture in New Zeland: Yeah Right" by having an afternoon of "Kiwi as" fun!

We started the afternoon off by having a shared lunch of typical New Zealand food. People shared sausage rolls, scones, anzac biscuits, pin wheels, kiwifruit, pinneapple lumps, pavalova, lamingtons and of course we drank L'n'P!

After our huge feed we supported the girls in the interclass tug of war competition, they all pulled hard and had a lot of fun.
The girls pulled hard!

Then it was time for the Kiwi activities to begin. We had a blindfolded taste test, which was difficult to distinguish between all the different flavours of potato chips.

We ventured outdoors to participate in the Gumboot throwing competition, which Cameron Smith won the boys furtherest throw, and Lucy Vanner took out the girls competition.

Our 2 winners for the biggest throw!

Hana taking on the challenge.

Sam getting good distance.

Adam strectching it out.

Brandon trying a different style.
Then the students came up with their own ideas for a game using the Gumboots, and they created a game based on a softball game, were you threw a Gumboot instead of a ball. It was an exciting game and we had a draw at the end.

Kerey striding it out.

Ben ready to catch!

Sheamus throwing it high, and ready to run.

Mardie making the dash.
This fantastic afternoon of Kiwi fun was ended by a good, old running ran, which Logan De Joux won only by a split second!

Ready, set, GO!!!!

Sam and Logan came in at the same time, we had a rematch and Logan took out the win by a split second!
What an excellent way to end the term! Thank you to all Room 2 students for all your hard work this Term2! Enjoy your holiday and come back refreshed and ready to learn more.
